Job Duties
The Virginia Department of Taxation’s Court Debt Collections Office (CDCO) is seeking enthusiastic individuals to serve as Collections Representatives to assist with the collection of delinquent court fines and fees. Collections Representatives must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to multi-task and manage time well and the ability to utilize critical thinking skills while always remaining professional and empathic to the caller.
In this role, you will:
Work in a high call volume call center handling incoming and outgoing calls.
Generate correspondence and negotiate payment arrangements for repayment of court fee and fines.
Research and manage multiple databases simultaneously to efficiently work accounts currently in collections.
This position will report to the agency’s Westmoreland location.
This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule once fully trained. The weekly schedule after training would be Monday and Friday as telework days. Tuesday's, Wednesday's and Thursday's are office days.
The anticipated hiring salary is commensurate with experience up to $42,000.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience working in a fast-paced, high volume call center environment
Experience in collections techniques and negotiating skills
Experience analyzing and researching financial information and relaying that information to customers in an understandable manner
Strong written and communication skills to effectively communicate with a diverse population
Ability to work independently and complete multiple assignments accurately, efficiently, and timely
Strong computer skills to include the use and navigation of MS Office products, Internet, and financial systems
Effective conflict management skills, including exceptional listening, call control, and de-escalation techniques while maintaining professionalism
Additional Considerations
Collection experience with local, state or federal government
