Job Description

We're seeking someone to join our US Banks Legal Entity Controllers team as an Affiliate Governance Director in Global Corp Cntrlers & Planning to help lead an important project and provide support and oversight on an ongoing basis for related affiliate activity to ensure the Banks are following all applicable regulations.

In the Finance division, we act as a partner to business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm's financial and capital resources. This is a Director level position within the Corporate Controllers, Reporting & Accounting job family, which is responsible for the accuracy and control of the Firm’s books and records to produce the consolidated firm, segment and legal entities financial statements. The group owns the Firm’s financial reporting under US GAAP, International GAAP and the global regulatory regimes. Responsibilities include the development, management and oversight of financial accounting & reporting systems as well as database management. Includes capital and liquidity reporting and external reporting functions.

What you'll do in the role:

> Leading efforts to build out a governance and control process around intercompany activity and aligning it with an existing entity; assist with the buildout of intercompany activity monitoring.

> Working through expense details in the general ledger and cross checking against existing agreements, working with others across the firm if there isn't an existing agreement and reversing the cost until an agreement is in place

> Help review existing policies and identifying updates, where needed. Assisting on other projects/tasks, as needed

> Help review the framework for intercompany activity governance, identify gaps, and assist with tracking the development of new agreements.

> Familiarity with GAAP and general ledger processes as some assistance will be required in these areas.

> Help support the automation/ technology needs for the extended intercompany activity governance and reporting.



What you'll bring to the role:
> In-depth knowledge of Finance functional area, product and/or client segment and technical skills, as well as of industry and competitive environment
> Ability to operate independently with respect to most job responsibilities
> Ability to provide positive and constructive feedback and innovate processes
> Accounting / Finance background.
> External reporting and/or public accounting experience.
> Self-starter and able to perform effectively with minimal supervision.
> At least 4 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $90,000 and $155,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
