
Job Summary:
McCalla Raymer Leibert Pierce, LLP is seeking an initiative-taking, Mississippi licensed, Consumer Bankruptcy Attorney with 2–3 years of experience to join our dynamic National Bankruptcy team. Our firm represents secured creditors, with a primary focus on mortgage default legal services, including Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy matters across multiple jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the Bankruptcy Code, experience handling contested and uncontested matters, and a commitment to delivering high-quality legal services in a fast-paced environment.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- J.D. from an accredited law school; licensed and in good standing in Mississippi (additional admissions are a plus but not required).
- 2–3 years of experience in consumer bankruptcy law, representing creditors is preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of bankruptcy rules, electronic court filing systems (e.g., PACER, CM/ECF), and knowledge of servicing platforms is a plus.
- Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage high-volume caseload.
- Meticulous details with strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws.
- Motivated self starter, with the ability to multi-task, as well as to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
- Possess the ability to work under various pressures and meet strict deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and at ease with utilizing technology.
- Overall positive attitude and willingness to adapt to change.
- Can identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
- Balances team and individual responsibilities while contributing to building a positive team spirit.
- Examines ways to improve and promote quality.
- Remote / Work From Home position or ability to work in MRLP’s Office located in Jackson, MS.
- Must be able to attend hearings throughout the State of Mississippi, as needed, and in conjunction with coverage attorneys as well.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS (NOT REQUIRED)
- Multi-jurisdictional bar admission(s).
- Experience working with mortgage servicers or financial institutions.
- Familiarity with BK case management systems such as BKFS, Tempo, or LPS Desktop.
