KMK Law is in search of a Legal Assistant to join our Litigation Group.
Job Responsibilities:
- Electronically files documents with federal and state courts.
- Prepares, proofreads, and edits documents at direction of attorneys.
- Dockets and schedules dates for court filings, hearings, and other matters.
- Establishes and maintains case files electronically and in paper.
- Enters billable time for timekeepers; prepares bills for clients.
- Updates and manages client contact information, emails, and paper mail.
- Manages telephone calls.
- Coordinates and schedules client meetings; prepares travel arrangements.
- Coordinates large copy jobs with internal copy services.
- Other duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong technical skills including Microsoft Office and document management systems.
- 3+ years’ experience in law firm preferred.
- Excellent spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Strong attention to detail.
- May lift up to 15 pounds on occasion.
