What would you do in this role?
Key Responsibilities:- Legal Advisory: Provide proactive legal counsel to senior management and internal departments on a broad range of issues, including employment law, corporate compliance, intellectual property, and commercial transactions.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to ensure the company's rights and obligations are clearly defined and protected.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, including data protection and privacy laws.
- Dispute Resolution: Manage legal disputes, litigation, and claims, liaising with external counsel when necessary.
- Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, providing training and guidance to staff as needed.
- Policy Development: Assist in the creation and implementation of company policies and procedures to support compliance and minimize liability.
- Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school; admission to the bar in the State of Texas (this position is based in Plano, TX) or at least one State bar in the United States.
- Experience: 5+ years of legal experience, preferably with a combination of law firm and in-house legal counsel roles.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of corporate and commercial law, excellent negotiation and drafting skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Attributes: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, high ethical standards, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
