A leading Business Support Systems(BSS)/Operational Support Systems(OSS) software company with its corporate headquarters in South Carolina is looking for a Corporate Attorney or Negotiator to fill its job opening for the position of “Vice President of Legal and Regulatory Affairs”. The company has a concentration in the telecommunications industry, but also provides services in several other utility industries.
Job Summary
Responsible for optimizing pricing and price structure of the products and services, as well as ensuring correct billing and contract interpretation. Prepare, negotiate, and review various company contracts, including vendor lease purchases, subcontractor agreements, customer sales, and business partnerships. Must perform duties with a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
· Continuously investigate new & innovative pricing structures to optimize revenue, profitability, and revenue assurance. Develop scenarios and present recommendations for improvement to the executive team.
· Analyze contracts with an eye toward reducing costs, mitigating risk, and increasing profits, while ensuring compliance with the law.
· Manage all company contracts.
· Negotiate with customers, external vendors, and company partners to secure advantageous terms.
· Interpret laws as needed and conduct risk analysis reporting for the company.
· Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure effective operation of the company
Qualifications and Skills
Associate degree in business, accounting, or a computer science related curriculum or equivalent experience. Law degree required.
Experience in supervision and management of both employees and other resources to achieve standards of excellence. Strong attention to detail along with the ability to discover potential risks for our company.
Must be willing to travel and have a valid driver's license with a good driving record to drive rental vehicles if necessary.
Must be a self-motivated, people-oriented individual with highly developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, who is comfortable making presentations to large or small groups and with extemporaneous speaking when necessary.
Extensive knowledge of telecommunications industry including knowledge of both wireline and wireless industries.
Must be able to project and maintain an image of integrity, dependability, and professionalism in all business relationships, both internal and external.
