We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to support attorneys in probate, elder law, special needs planning, and estate planning matters. The ideal candidate will have hands on experience with Medicaid applications and probate administration.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with probate administration, court filings, inventories, and accountings
- Prepare and submit Medicaid applications and supporting documentation
- Prepare gift tax returns and federal estate tax returns, gift (and generation-skipping transfer) tax returns
- Support elder law and special needs matters, including trust administration
- Maintain case files, deadlines, and client communications
- Draft estate planning documents (wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives)
- Communicate with clients, courts, government agencies, and financial institutions
Qualifications
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience
- Prior paralegal experience in probate, elder law, and estate planning
- Medicaid application experience strongly preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Willingness to collaborate and work together as a team
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well under pressure
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Estate Assist and HotDocs preferred.
