Pre Litigation Paralegal

Job Summary: The Pre-Litigation Paralegal works in conjunction with the attorneys and other legal team members to effectively manage cases while providing superior service to the client at all times. This is a hybrid position, working at our main office located in The Hill neighborhood of St. Louis, MO.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain the electronic file in case management system
• Complete initial file investigations 
• Review initial case information and documentation in preparation of the file being opened by the Legal Assistant.
• Review police reports and complete follow up investigations/tasks
• Call/Text/Email communication with clients
• Call/Email/Fax communication with insurance claim handlers
• Maintain communication with all legal team members (Legal Assistant, Property Damage Specialist, Medical Care Coordinator, Medical Paralegal, Medical Expense Coordinator, Settlement Paralegal and Attorney).
• Request, obtain and calculate lost wage documentation
• Prepare files for Attorneys to prepare demand packages
• Open Cases and Upload/Maintain Documents into AI Software (Supio)
• Review/Compare provider balances to liens received 
• Review and prepare files for the Settlement Team to process settlements
• Review and save all incoming mail, faxes, email, etc.
• Prepare files for withdrawal and referral

Skills and Qualifications:

• Paralegal with personal injury experience preferred
• Must possess strong writing and communication skills with attention to detail
• Must have the ability to handle competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in legal research
• Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Education:

• Associate’s degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred
