Job Description

Eckert Seamans is a full-service national law firm with a strong reputation and history of success that spans more than 65 years. With approximately 300 lawyers across a network of 14 offices, we provide clients with proactive, solution-oriented business and litigation counsel. We are seeking a Litigation Paralegal for our Wilmington, Delaware office.

Position Description:

  • Preparation of legal documents and pleadings
  • File documents with courts
  • Summarize depositions and prepare status reports for attorneys
  • Organization and management of documents, including managing spreadsheets and retrieval systems
  • Act as liaison among various parties including court for scheduling and communication between counsel for all parties
  • Coordinate the collection, review, and production of documents and respond to discovery requests
  • Assist with conducting research and investigating facts
  • Assist with trial preparation including assembly of exhibits, witness binders and appendices for depositions and court filings
  • Coordination of large-scale document jobs with the Firm’s Office Services
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • Ability to function well in a high paced environment
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and U.S legal system
  • Aptitude for learning new applications, systems, and processes
  • Proficient with electronic court filing
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office365
  • Proficient with document management systems, iManage preferred
  • Proficient in ShareFile and Kroll preferred

Qualifications:

  • High school degree or equivalent required. College degree or Paralegal Certification from an ABA accredited program preferred, or a combination of education and/or experience. 
  • Experience in civil litigation defense is desirable but not required.
