Job Responsibilities:
As a Legal Administrative Assistant, you will assist attorneys and paralegals in the organization of documents and workflow necessary to ensure smooth operations of the firm and the firm’s timekeepers.
Your duties in this role will include:
- Preparing legal documents and correspondence
- Filing documents in state and federal courts
- Preparing and maintaining charts with hyperlinks for documents
- Preparing binders for attorneys and judges
- Saving documents and emails to the iManage system in accordance with firm policy
- Scheduling deadlines, meetings, and other calendar commitments
- Making travel arrangements and processing expense reports
- Processing client disbursements
- Processing payments and requesting checks for case resources and services
- Organizing and maintaining case files
- Answering incoming telephone calls, screening calls, and redirecting callers as necessary
- Supporting overall Bowman and Brooke administrative needs by assisting team members where needed
Job Requirements:
We're looking for a Legal Administrative Assistant with a strong work ethic, outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to work well under pressure and against tight deadlines. You must also possess excellent attention to detail and have the ability to go between tasks with ease. Confidence and outstanding communication are key to developing relationships of trust and teamwork with members of our team.
Specific qualifications for this position include:
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Exceptional computer skills specifically in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to work continuously in front of a computer
- Ability to obtain documents from online court directories
- Ability to work occasional overtime when the need arises
- Ability to lift at least 30 lbs. (files and boxes)
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of legal experience required
- Litigation experience required
- Demonstrated employment stability
- Appellate experience preferred
- Experience in iManage preferred
