We’re a simple-to-use photo documentation and productivity app for contractors of all commercial and home services industries. Packed with intuitive functionality, CompanyCam facilitates unparalleled communication and accountability across a contractor’s entire business. We’re committed to providing a consumer-grade, game-changing experience that helps our users build trust within their company and with their customers.
But don’t let that corporate description fool you—the people behind our buttoned-up product are laid-back (but hardworking), genuine, and kickass, and you could be one of them!
We’re looking for a practical, business-minded Counsel, Business & Commercial Affairs to join CompanyCam’s Legal team.
As the second attorney on the team, you’ll report directly to our General Counsel and take ownership of commercial contracting across the business. You’ll partner closely with go-to-market teams and internal stakeholders to draft, negotiate, and close a wide range of agreements, helping the business move quickly while managing risk thoughtfully.
You’ll act as a trusted advisor, bringing strong judgment and clear communication to everyday decisions. Beyond contracts, you’ll help improve legal processes and tools, building scalable legal infrastructure to support CompanyCam’s continued growth.
What You'll Do
- Own commercial contracting end to end, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating customer, vendor, partnership, and strategic agreements.
- Partner closely with go-to-market teams to structure and close deals, balancing legal risk with speed and commercial goals.
- Provide clear, practical legal guidance on contract terms, deal structures, and negotiation strategy.
- Build and improve contract infrastructure by developing templates, playbooks, fallback positions, and negotiation guidelines as the business scales.
- Enable teams to move faster by creating self-service tools, documentation, and training for lower-risk agreements.
- Serve as a trusted cross-functional advisor, translating legal concepts into actionable, business-friendly advice.
- Support general legal work and special projects while helping improve legal processes and reinforce a pragmatic, solutions-oriented legal culture.
At CompanyCam, your work makes a real impact. Whether you're writing code, supporting customers, or designing experiences, your contributions directly shape the product we deliver and the people we serve. We're building something that helps real people solve real problems—and we believe that kind of work is best done by a team that reflects the world around us. In this role, you’ll drive impact by:
- Accelerate revenue and partnerships by helping teams close deals efficiently while managing risk thoughtfully.
- Improve how legal work gets done by building scalable contract processes, tools, and playbooks that reduce friction as the company grows.
- Bring clarity and confidence to decision-making by translating legal complexity into practical, business-friendly guidance.
- Help shape a strong, trusted Legal function known for partnership, pragmatism, and enabling the business—not slowing it down.
- A J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice law in Nebraska (or eligibility for admission prior to start).
- 3–5 years of relevant legal experience handling commercial contracts and transactional matters, preferably in-house.
- Strong commercial drafting and negotiation skills across SaaS, vendor, partnership, and data-related agreements.
- Business-minded judgment with the ability to balance legal risk, speed, and commercial objectives in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear, confident communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners.
- A process-oriented mindset, with experience building or improving contract templates, playbooks, or legal workflows.
- The ability to juggle priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and sound judgment.
- A continuous growth-mindset, with a focus on learning, embracing challenges, and continuously improving.
- A knack for creativity and innovation, bringing fresh ideas to the table and solving complex problems.
