Medical Records Specialist:

About Us:

The Halpern Law Firm, LLC, based in Bryn Mawr, PA and Pittsburgh, PA, specializes in representing mesothelioma victims in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. For over 30 years, the firm, led by David Halpern, has been actively fighting for the rights of victims of asbestos exposure. With a track record of investigating, litigating, and settling numerous mesothelioma and asbestos lung cancer cases, the firm is dedicated to seeking justice for those affected.

Job Responsibilities: Detail-orientated and organized individual to assist with our Litigation Department. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a medical office or directly with medical records and will play a critical role in the management, review, and processing of medical records. This position involves supporting various operational tasks including filing, preparing case records outline to assist with expert report preparation.

Duties:

  • Request and review medical records from healthcare providers and facilities.
  • Evaluate and organize medical documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in preparing case records outline, ensuring timely and correct submission of documents.
  • File and maintain hard copies of medical records in compliance with organizational policies.
  • Serve as a backup for the preparation and distribution of expert reports.
  • Collaborate with team members to support case timelines and workflow efficiency.
  • Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Medical experience is required, either through working in a medical office or having experience reading and interpreting medical records.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, document management systems, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a legal, insurance, or medical-legal environment.
  • Familiar with medical terminology and records management systems.

Location: Remote or in person
Comp Package: Starting salary of $45,000 based on skills and experience, Bonus, Full Benefits, 401K
