
Job Description
What the Day Looks Like:
- Medical records and billing statements collection, management and organization
- Data entry and medical billing reconciliation
- Processing invoices and checks
- Scheduling depositions and mediations
- Public records searches
- Monitoring court calendars
- Preparing and managing all outgoing legal mail including certified mail and FedEx
- Managing incoming mail and maintaining client documents and files
- Filing and retrieving documents from courthouse(s) and defense attorneys’ offices
- Creating notebooks for hearings and trials along with any other administrative duties as assigned by paralegals and attorneys
- This position is located between our Durham & Raleigh offices. Remote work is not available for this role.
We’re Looking for Someone Who:
- Is self-motivated, proactive and a quick learner
- Previous experience at a law office, courthouse or with legal documents
- Is computer savvy and able to learn new programs quickly
- Must be able to manage a high-volume of tasks, while prioritizing and dealing with conflicting deadlines
- Enjoys being on the phone 50% of the day with customer service representatives, medical providers and court staff to obtain requested documents and information
- Capacity to understand medical invoices
- Is process-oriented with a high level of accuracy and ownership in outcomes
We will consider high potential candidates without legal experience. A work background in medical records, insurance billing, accounting and other detail-oriented fields is helpful in lieu of legal experience.
