This position may be filled remotely, or in any of our office locations.

The Conflicts Manager oversees and directs the general functions related to the conflicts clearance of new business requests and is responsible for the management of the analysts who assist with the review, search, and clearance of same.

In addition to handling conflicts requests as needed, the Conflicts Manager will work closely with other Conflicts leadership to help create policies and procedures related to the intake and clearance of conflicts requests. He or she will assist in providing training and guidance to analysts and other team members on best practices, ensuring compliance and timely attention to requests and conflicts clearance. Essential job functions include:

  • Supervises and coordinates with other Conflicts leadership and analysts regarding queue management to ensure timely attention to conflicts new business and maintenance requests.
  • Takes primary responsibility for supervising, interviewing and hiring general Conflicts Analysts, including timesheet review, vacation requests, and providing input on overall staffing needs.
  • Serves as a point of reference and resource to the conflicts analysts and other team members related to escalation of conflicts clearance questions and issues. 
  • Assists conflicts leadership team with the creation and documentation of best practices and training materials for conflicts and business intake teams. 
  • Interacts with attorneys and staff throughout the firm, as needed, related to the conflicts process, resolution of conflicts, and other questions or issues as needed. 
  • Provides input and recommendation of conflicts procedures, processes and workflow. 
  • Provides personnel leadership and development feedback to the conflicts analysts.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

Position Requirements

  • Five years’ conflicts experience, including at least one year of conflicts management experience, at an international law firm strongly preferred.
  • Juris Doctor preferred.
  • Ability to respond to requests requiring analysis of potential conflict of interest issues.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of relevant business conflict related policies.
  • Ability to demonstrate impeccable integrity in personal and fiduciary matters.
  • Experience working with senior leadership to make recommendations or build consensus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Intapp Open or similar conflicts software, Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, NetDocs, Intapp Terms, Intapp Walls, and corporate research databases.
  • Ability to become proficient in the Firm’s Document Management System.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to establish credibility, build trust, and develop positive working relationships with team members, firm leadership, lawyers, and other professionals.
  • Exceptional judgment, flexibility, and professionalism.
  • Ability to work after hours on occasion, as needed.
  • Ability to travel to other offices and events, as needed.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation ranges for this position in various states and jurisdictions are as follows:

  • State of California: $131,000 - $268,000 
  • State of Colorado: $121,000 - $215,000
  • State of Illinois: $119,000 - $230,000
  • State of Maryland: $127,000 - $193,000
  • State of Massachusetts: $131,000 - $251,000
  • State of Minnesota: $131,000 - $217,000
  • Jersey City, NJ: $143,000 - $258,000
  • State of New York: $122,000 - $264,000
  • State of Vermont: $130,000 - $249,000
  • State of Washington: $127,000 - $242,000
  • Washington, D.C.: $169,000 - $249,000

The above salaries do not include a discretionary bonus, however bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed, and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.
