Offit Kurman is seeking a highly organized and proactive Administrative Paralegal to support two busy attorneys onsite in our Commercial Litigation practice group. This position involves a hybrid workload of approximately 30% billable litigation support and 70% high-level administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong discovery experience, a deep understanding of various North Carolina county court rules, and the ability to communicate with extreme attention to detail and clarity. Trial experience is preferred, and commercial litigation experience is required.
Responsibilities:

Draft and prepare legal documents including pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, briefs, deposition digests, and case summaries.

Prepare document preservation notices and litigation hold memoranda, and assist with implementation.

File documents electronically with Federal, State, and NC Business Courts.

Coordinate and communicate with clerks and case coordinators across multiple NC counties.

Assist with deposition and trial preparation and attend as needed.

Perform legal research and maintain accurate records of findings.

Manage and maintain both physical and electronic client files.

Open new matters and facilitate internal client onboarding procedures.

Assist with document production tasks, including collection, review, redaction, bates-stamping, and indexing.

Schedule meetings, calls, deadlines, and maintain attorney calendars.

Manage mailings (USPS, Certified Mail, FedEx) and administrative financial tasks such as check requests and reimbursement forms.
Requirements:

Proven experience as a litigation paralegal with commercial litigation background.

Extensive knowledge of civil litigation procedures, including county-specific court rules.

Strong experience in discovery and document production workflows.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; must be an extremely proactive and detailed communicator.

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), WestLaw, document management systems, and litigation software.

Experience with document review platforms and trial presentation tools is a plus.

Bachelor’s degree preferred; Paralegal associate’s degree or equivalent certification required.

Minimum of 3 years of legal support experience in a law firm or similar setting.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

This role requires prolonged periods of sitting and computer use, with occasional standing, walking, and light lifting (up to 15 lbs.).

This is a fully onsite position in a professional office environment with a moderate noise level.
