In this role you will provide Contract Services to all Business Units in the Americas World Area, with a primary focus on Procurement and Supply Chain pursuits and a secondary, and as needed, focus on sales-related pursuits, working independently; may be responsible for management and supervision of Contracts Counsel/Specialist.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Reviews, drafts and negotiates agreements and transaction documents in compliance with applicable policies and legal and ethical standards, without supervision, including in:
- Responding, within established guidelines, to customers’ RFP/RFQs, vendor qualification documents and contractual requests;
- Drafting and negotiating with customers, appropriate contractual language to reflect the business interests and policies of the parties;
- Takes the Contracts Lead role on:
- Complex international and multi-BU project contracts;
- Complex frame agreements (multi-BU & -WA);
- Act as Global Contracts Lead role on Global Strategic Accounts;
- Develops and communicates creative solutions and mitigation strategies to key negotiation points;
- May mentor and train Contracts Americas personnel
- Provides advice during the approval process to assist business owners in making informed decisions and secure appropriate approvals;
- Interfaces with vendors, customers, members of the legal team and other Emerson stakeholders to bring deals to closure;
- Analyses business, financial, and legal risks;
- Researches information on existing agreements and contractual programs, assisting with analysis and compiling data for reports;
- Provides contract-related mentorship to Procurement, Supply Chain, Sales, Project Management and other stakeholders;
- Legal research;
- Provides legal advice and interpretation of legal matters, including the application of law;
- Provides direction to outside counsel on routine matters.

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Law Degree
- Relevant years of work experience in a contracts-related role commensurate with the level of the position.
- Licensed to practice law in US or Emerson applicable jurisdiction
- Strong Coaching & mentoring skills
- Intermediate MS Office skills
- Excellent oral and written English
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Extensive knowledge of Contract law & principles
- Commercial provisions such as warranty, liquidated damages/penalties, payment & freight terms, documentary credits and bank guarantees/sureties
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
- 4+ years of work experience in a contracts-related role
Our Offer To You:
Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during the annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $160,876 - $215,638 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to this role.
