Job Summary:
Responsible for providing administrative support to General Counsel to enhance legal department effectiveness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the department.
- Coordinate and maintain an electronic filing system for documents, contracts, organizational documents, litigation, records, and reports.
- Prepare and proofread memos and other legal documents such as pleadings, contracts, and discovery for accuracy and efficiency.
- Manage and respond to correspondence on behalf of the legal department.
- Serve as a gatekeeper for incoming and outgoing communication on behalf of General Counsel.
- Communicate professionally and maintain confidentiality of communication with clients, courts, and outside counsel.
- Coordinate General Counsel schedule, email, travel, continuing legal education credits. follow up with internal clients to ensure deadlines are met, and documents are retained electronically.
- Act as a liaison with internal clients, provide updates to clients and follow up with General Counsel.
- Conduct research: assist with light research using online databases and other resources
- Provide a “Customer Service” attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe workstation/environment at all times.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

- There are no supervisory responsibilities in this position.
Education and Experience:
- Education: High School or Equivalent
- Experience: 1-3 years of clerical or office administration experience, law firm experience preferred. Experience with legal document formatting, e-filing, and case management systems is a plus.

- Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) and ContractSafe
- Ability to maintain good attendance habits.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Frequently required to stand and sit for long periods of time.
- May be confined to specific area.
- Occasionally lift and/or move objects of 50 pounds or more.
- Operate in an office and production environment.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel to lift objects of 50 pounds or more.
- Ability to use stairs and ladders.
- Ability to carry out tasks in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks at once.
- $35 - $25/hour
