Moore & Van Allen PLLC, a dynamic and fast-growing full-service law firm of more than 400 attorneys and professionals, is seeking an experienced business immigration paralegal to join its team. Under attorney supervision, the immigration paralegal is responsible for the preparation and filing of nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions with various governmental agencies including USCIS, DOL, and US Embassies and Consulates worldwide.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist clients through the processing of their visa petitions and other immigration-related inquiries.
- Collaborate with the Client Services Manager and Attorneys to effectively manage client expectations and timelines.
- Manage caseload from intake through processing, filing and final decision.
- Prepare applications for permanent residency and secondary benefits for foreign nationals.
- Process and file nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions.
- Organize petition packets for review and filing.
- Gather application and petition information from employees and employers as needed.
- Keep clients updated on the progress of their cases.
- Maintain digital records of files and enter data into immigration case management system.
- Respond to client inquiries in a timely manner and adhere to submission deadlines.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of employment-based immigration experience with preparing all types of nonimmigrant visa applications and EB-1 through EB-3 immigrant visa applications.
- Experience working with Fortune 500 clientele and international executives preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
- Candidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to develop cases, ability to prioritize work, and a strong substantive understanding of legal requirements and supporting documentation for business immigration filings.
Physical Requirements:
- The work is primarily sedentary.
- It requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
- The work requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
- The work at times requires bending, squatting, and reaching, with the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull light weights.
