Job Description

This position is located in the DEA, Office of the Associate Deputy Administrator This position primary purpose is to serve as the Senior Advisor to the Associate Deputy Administrator, providing authoritative guidance, program management leadership, and strategic advisory services across DEA business operations.

Duties

As a your typical work assignments may include:

  • Establishing, mandating, and enforcing policy frameworks that govern multiple DOJ components.
  • Directing, controlling and executing responses towards legislative change, including the support of new program configurations.
  • Consulting in the resolution of most challenging problems on projects of agency wide scope and impact for the division.
  • Overseeing division's efforts and projects that are aimed at improving work processes and administrative services.
  • Ensuring successful implementation of large-scale administrative, human resources, and organizational changes.

Salary
  • $169,279 - $197,200/year

Applicants must meet the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of the announcement.

GS 15:


Specialized Experience: Must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS 14 level (or equivalent), and your experience includes performing at least four of the tasks below as part of your regular duties:

1) Developing, implementing and maintaining Federal-wide policies governing agency's business operations, financial management, and administrative programs.
2) Directing, controlling and executing responses towards legislative changes, including the support of new program configurations and realigning resources.
3) Reviewing proposed legislation or regulations, conducting research and analysis, and promoting innovation and initiatives for DEA.
4) Performing broad and extensive studies that cut across or strongly influence the DOJ and its components.
5) Maintaining regular and recurring relationships across DOJ, Congress and Federal departments, exercising independent negotiations, and making decisions on behalf of DEA.
