
Quintairos, Prieto, Wood & Boyer, P.A. (QPWB), a multi-office national law firm, has an immediate opening for a full-time Paralegal to join our Scottsdale office.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced litigation paralegal to support attorneys in the defense of medical malpractice cases. The role is hands-on and requires collaboration with attorneys, clients, and staff in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Request, review, and summarize large volumes of medical records for attorneys, clients, and experts
Prepare medical chronologies and case summaries for internal use and client reporting
Analyze records and billing to identify strengths, weaknesses, and inconsistencies in medical evidence
Assist in identifying, vetting, and communicating with expert witnesses
Prepare case materials and assist attorneys in deposition and trial preparation
Conduct medical and legal research using online resources and legal databases
Organize and maintain files, pleadings, and other case-related documentation
Support attorneys with the preparation of subpoenas and other case discovery
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience supporting defense litigators, preferably in medical malpractice or insurance defense
Strong knowledge of Arizona State Court filing procedures, including e-filing
Familiarity with medical records and terminology; ability to summarize records preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently under deadlines
High school diploma or equivalent required; paralegal certificate preferred
Physical Demands:
This position is primarily sedentary and will require prolonged periods of sitting and computer use. Occasional standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting up to 20 pounds may be required.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in a professional office setting with occasional interruptions and varying noise levels. Hybrid work options are available.
