About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing, approving, and advising on all advertising, promotional, and educational materials produced by the company, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, as well as protecting the company’s intellectual property rights and reputation. You will also be involved in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts and agreements with business partners in support of the foregoing. Additionally, you will provide legal support and guidance on various matters.
You should have excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. You should be able to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals. You should also be proactive, detail-oriented, and ethical.
Let’s talk about some of the key responsibilities of the role:
- Effectively partner with Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing and other Commercial colleagues to ensure promotional materials are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Provide analysis, guidance, and support to the Medical Affairs department members, including Medical Directors, Medical Information, and Senior Medical Ambassadors to ensure educational materials are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Provide legal review of corporate media/social media materials to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Draft, negotiate, and review contracts and agreements with business partners related to marketing and education initiatives, as well as other business initiatives when needed.
- Perform legal research, including interpretation of laws and regulations as relevant to the business
- Assist with IP portfolio management and SEC filings as required

Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited university
- License to practice law in the U.S., and preferably in California
- At least 5-7 years of experience as in-house counsel, with at least 2-3 years as in-house counsel in the healthcare or life sciences industry
- Science degree/background preferred, but not required

The expected base pay range for this position is $161,200 - $225,800 plus bonus, stock equity, and comprehensive benefits. The base pay range reflects the target range for this position, but individual pay will be determined by additional factors such as job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
