Starkey is hiring for an individual to fill our Corporate Counsel role at our Global headquarters in Eden Prairie, MN. This position will be responsible for a variety of functions in the legal department. This position will work closely with the Company’s business units in a cross-functional capacity to minimize risk, ensure best practices and support growth. The Corporate Counsel will provide legal services as needed to ensure that the company is exercising best business practices. The position will provide general legal counsel to various business functions including commercial and corporate transactions, litigation management and strategic business advice.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare, review and negotiate company contracts, requests for proposals and other legal documents
- Establish documentation (contracts) to support network programs and business practices
- Consult with management, commercial advisors, tax experts, accountants and marketing staff
- Negotiate and draft contractual agreements, such as supply and services agreements
- Manage outside legal services
- General projects as directed by management
- Manage legal disputes and inquiries
Other Duties
- Support Starkey Employee Corporate and/or Department Guidelines.
- Check and verify quality.
- Support corporate health and safety objectives.
- React to change productively and handle other essential duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education, Certification and Experience Requirements
Education:
J.D. degree and member of Minnesota State bar
Experience:
Minimum 7 years of experience with preferably some experience in a law firm and experience managing commercial transactions.
Knowledge:
- Thorough knowledge of business and planning processes required.
Skills & Abilities
- Must be able to demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.
- Business-oriented approach to problem-solving, resourceful.
- Ability to prioritize and manage workload.
- Contract drafting and negotiating experience.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $162,000 - $200,0000/ year. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
