This position will be working documents related to national policy formulation, pending criminal/civil cases, current events, or other major legal issues, serving as a liaison with congressional staff members, personnel from federal, state or local agencies; White House congressional liaison staff members; Office of Management and Budget liaison personnel; and private organizations and citizens to resolve problems in the processing of congressional correspondence/documents in a timely manner.
Duties The duties and responsibilities for a Executive Correspondence Officer, GS-0301-13 generally include, but are not limited to, the following:
*Plan and prepare reports and other working documents related to complex program issues.
* Analyze issues in incoming correspondence, correctly identify which component and portfolio it falls under and correctly assign with minimal supervision.
*Conduct accurate, up-to-date tracking of all pending congressional priority correspondence, including maintaining accurate records and spreadsheets detailing the status of all such correspondence, and providing a weekly report on pending correspondence to management.
* Assist management officials and senior staff of the organization in preparing correspondence to external customers that are of fundamental concern to Congress, state and local governments, private and public organizations and community groups.
* Serve as the point-of-contact and source for guidance relating to document protocol, format, compositions, and grammar to lower-level staff members in the Executive Secretariat, as well as Departmental offices.
*Conduct administrative studies to provide a basic outline of results desired to accomplish the project goals and objectives through refining or developing more specific guidelines, such as implementing regulations or methods to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the policy correspondences.

To qualify for the position of Executive Correspondence Officer, at GS-0301-13, you must meet the qualification requirements listed below.
For the GS-13, your resume must demonstrate one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as: Managing an automated tracking system, such as the electronic Consolidated Asset Tracking System (eCATS), for all incoming correspondence to determine the issues raised; Ensuring background and support information is provided in Congressional correspondence packages; and Analyzing issues concerning the efficiency or effectiveness of program operations.
