Job Description

DescriptionThe Immigration Group at Pryor Cashman LLP is seeking a Business Immigration Paralegal with 2+ years of experience to support its fast-paced, high-volume sports practice. This role will focus on preparing various employment-based visa petitions and working on consular affairs matters. This position will play a critical role in supporting attorneys and paralegals by streamlining workflow and ensuring timely case progression.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Intake cases, troubleshoot, and establish case strategy.
  • Analyze case documents and prepare immigration applications for filing with the appropriate government agency.
  • Draft petitions, applications and specialized support letters detailing eligibility for visa classification and other immigration benefits.
  • Manage consular processing workflows for sports immigration matters.
  • Monitor case statuses and proactively address scheduling or processing issues.
  • Communicate with attorneys, paralegals, and clients regarding appointment logistics and updates.
  • Provide general administrative and immigration support as needed.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Competencies

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Meet assigned deadlines and communicate case progress/status/issues to supervisor.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and initiative regarding assignments for self and team.
  • Demonstrate leadership by taking ownership of assigned cases and demonstrate accountability for case progress. 

Experience

  • Knowledge of principles and practices, legal terminology and research techniques.
  • Prior immigration paralegal or administrative experience preferred, ideally in high-volume practice areas.
  • Experience with consular processing strongly preferred.

 Education

  • Bachelor's degree required. 

 

Salary Range: $75k - $90k.
