Centrus Global See More Job Openings by This EmployerCentrus Energy Corp. is seeking a highly experienced legal executive to serve as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary, and Chief Compliance Officer. This individual will be a key member of the executive team, providing strategic legal guidance and directing the company’s legal affairs both domestically and internationally. As the top legal authority, this leader will oversee corporate governance, compliance, litigation, and regulatory matters while advising senior management and the Board of Directors on critical business issues. This role requires a dynamic leader with extensive legal expertise, strategic acumen, and a deep understanding of the legal landscape in which we operate.
What You Will Do?
The Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary, and Chief Compliance Officer will be responsible for managing all aspects of Centrus Energy’s legal operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and mitigating legal risk. Key duties include overseeing corporate legal activities, advising on corporate governance and SEC compliance, supporting strategic initiatives, supervising inside and outside counsel, negotiating contracts, and managing litigation and compliance programs. As an executive officer of the company, this role requires strategic leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to provide sound legal and business counsel to senior executives and the Board of Directors. Domestic and international travel may be required.
We’d Love To Hear From People With:
- Juris Doctorate degree (J.D.) from a nationally accredited law school and a member in good-standing with the State Bar of Maryland or another U.S. jurisdiction.
- Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, with a clean disciplinary history.
- 20+ years of increasingly responsible legal experience, including a blend of law firm and senior in-house counsel roles demonstrating advanced legal expertise and strategic leadership.
- Expertise in corporate governance, U.S. securities laws, and regulatory compliance, with a demonstrated ability to advise public company Boards of Directors.
- Proven executive leadership and strategic judgment and risk analysis, with the ability to serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, executive team, and Board.
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. federal regulations, with direct experience interacting with key government agencies and government contracting.
- Substantial experience developing and managing corporate compliance programs, including developing policies, coordinating risk assessments and training plans, conducting and overseeing investigations, and interfacing with regulators.
- Significant experience with employment-related matters, including employment law and Human Resources issues, labor law and union relations, employee benefits, and ERISA.
- Demonstrated success leading and mentoring high-performing legal teams, with a focus on collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Experience in structuring and negotiating complex commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and cross-border business arrangements.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy “Q” security clearance is essential.
A Successful Candidate Brings:
- Experience within the federal government, with a robust understanding of regulatory and policy frameworks.
- Significant background in government contracting, including compliance with federal procurement regulations.
- Industry experience in nuclear energy or other highly regulated sectors, with an understanding of international energy markets.
- Strategic litigation oversight experience, including management of high-stakes or sensitive legal matters.
Estimated Starting Base Salary Range: $275,000-$315,000. This position is Bonus eligible. Centrus considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.

This position will require a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test and vetting to ensure Centrus Energy can meet the requirements of 10 CFR Parts 810 and 1017 to grant access to export-controlled information and Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information, respectively. Such access is required for the performance of this position.
