Sr. Paralegal Employment Law (Contract)

San Jose, CA | Hybrid (3 Days Onsite) | Contract Role
Pay Rate: $40/hour

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Sr. Paralegal (Contract) to join the Employment Legal team. In this role, you will support litigation, compliance, and case management while helping to build scalable legal processes. The ideal candidate has strong in-house employment paralegal experience, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is skilled at handling multiple priorities with accuracy and discretion.

This is a contract position offering the chance to contribute to a dynamic financial services organization while further developing expertise in employment law and case management.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative Support

  • Draft, review, and format legal documents, correspondence, and presentations.

  • Manage employment intakes and conduct initial reviews.

  • Maintain and organize Google Drive files, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Schedule meetings, depositions, mediations, and other proceedings.

  • Assist with invoice management for outside counsel and vendors.

Litigation Management

  • Maintain case files for litigation, arbitrations, agency charges (EEOC, DFEH, DOL), and investigations.

  • Track litigation deadlines, statutes of limitations, and case calendars.

  • Coordinate discovery responses, including document collection and production.

  • Support preparation of pleadings, motions, and court filings.

  • Act as a liaison with outside counsel to ensure effective communication and compliance.

Compliance & Investigations

  • Support internal investigations by organizing documents and scheduling interviews.

  • Assist with compliance efforts tied to employment laws and regulations.

  • Help develop and maintain training materials and resources.

Project Management

  • Develop project plans for high-priority initiatives, tracking goals, milestones, and risks.

  • Identify and resolve blockers to keep projects on schedule.

  • Engage stakeholders and facilitate project communications.

  • Conduct project retrospectives to capture lessons learned.

Must-Have Qualifications
  • 57 years of in-house employment paralegal or case management experience.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Strong experience with Google Drive / G-Suite.

  • Knowledge of case management / eDiscovery tools (e.g., Exterro).

  • Experience with billing and invoice management systems.

  • Excellent multitasking, organizational, and people skills.

Work Schedule & Process
  • Contract Position 40 hrs/week (9am5pm PT).

  • Hybrid Schedule 3 days onsite in San Jose, CA.

  • Interview Process 1:1 interview, followed by a panel interview.
