Stark & Stark is actively recruiting for a Paralegal - Employment Law based in our Hamilton, NJ office. The right candidate will have the extraordinary opportunity to continue their professional development in a challenging, but collegial environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage employment law matters from intake through resolution, including maintaining case files, tracking deadlines, and supporting overall case strategy.
- Draft, review, and electronically file pleadings, discovery requests and responses, correspondence, and other legal documents in federal and state courts and administrative forums.
- Prepare and file EEOC charges, position statements, responses, and other submissions before the EEOC, DOL, and related agencies.
- Support attorney(s) with all phases of discovery, including drafting interrogatories and document requests, collecting and reviewing documents, and preparing draft discovery responses.
- Assist with deposition preparation, witness preparation, expert discovery, and the organization of exhibits and supporting materials.
- Support motion practice, including preparing materials for dispositive motions such as summary judgement motions, compiling exhibits, and proofreading filings for accuracy and rule compliance.
- Conduct legal research on employment law issues, including federal and state law developments, agency procedures, and case law.
- Organize trial, arbitration, mediation, and hearing logistics, including preparing witness and trial notebooks, coordinating schedules, and assisting with hearing or trial preparation.
- Maintain professional communication with clients, opposing counsel, and relevant third parties.
- Perform accurate data entry and case updates in Filevine.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in employment law and labor litigation.
- Experience handling cases in New Jersey is required; experience with matters in New York and Pennsylvania is preferred.
- Familiarity with the EEOC, DOL, federal and state court, and administrative filing procedures.
- Paralegal certificate or associate’s degree required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with ability to quickly learn new legal technology.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with strong time-management and follow-through skills.
- Excellent research, writing, and communication abilities.
- Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgement, and a strong commitment to client service.

Compensation will be determined based on multiple factors, including candidate experience, qualifications, accomplishments, and location. Employees may also be eligible for annual performance-based merit increases rewarding individual and firm achievements.
