Job Description

Summary:

Dean Mead, a full-service Florida business law firm, is seeking a Real Estate Paralegal/Closer to work in our Viera/Melbourne office. The Real Estate Paralegal/Closer plays a pivotal role in supporting the legal and administrative aspects of the Firm’s commercial and residential real estate transactions. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently within a fast-paced environment.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carefully draft and review all documents related to assigned real estate transaction, ensuring that they are complete, accurate, and comply with local and state laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate with various parties involved in the transaction, including buyers, sellers, real estate agents, lenders, and attorneys.
  • Review title searches, prepare closing statements, and record documents.
  • Conduct closing meetings and complete the post-closing process, including compiling and distributing comprehensive closing packages.
  • Ensure that all funds are in place for the transaction to close successfully and disburse funds as required.
  • Maintain and organize physical and digital case files.
  • Other administrative tasks, as assigned by Office Administrator and attorneys.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED (Required), bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate (Strongly Preferred).
  • Minimum of 2+ years’ relevant experience as a real estate closer and/or paralegal (Required), in a legal setting (Preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and PDF (Required).


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.


Work Environment:

  • This position reports to work in-person at the Dean Mead Viera office.
