Job Description

Duties Responsible for all aspects of pharmacy operations including dispensing, pharmaceutical care, clinical and community relations, and accreditation compliance. Plans and provides a completely integrated pharmacy program and coordinates these programs with all other departments within the institution including the provision of pharmacy services which may include inpatient, outpatient, parenteral preparations, and logistical solutions to satellite facilities including detention centers, camps, WitSec units, administrative detention, disciplinary segregation, etc. Reviews all medication orders for appropriateness in regard to dispensing in accordance with proper procedures which involves, reviewing for drug/drug interactions, therapeutic duplications, over-use, under-use, allergies, therapeutic review for adverse drug reactions, ensuring proper laboratory monitoring, review for appropriate clinical outcomes and final check of the prescription to ensure it contains the correct drug and patient directions for use. Provides supervision and direction to a subordinate staff consisting of Staff Pharmacists and/or Pharmacy Technicians. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and is performed on a regular and recurring basis. Salary- $95,390 - $124,012/year
