The Senior Litigation Paralegal will provide claims and litigation support (primarily personal injury, employment, and commercial cases) across Equinox Group and its portfolio of brands, including Equinox Fitness Clubs, Equinox Plus, SoulCycle, and Equinox Hotels. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with more than 6 years of litigation paralegal experience (private law firm practice preferred) to play a key role in conducting claim/incident investigations and witness interviews; preserving records and other evidence; collecting discovery; liaising with outside counsel; responding to subpoena requests; responding to claim letters, preparing witnesses for hearings, and drafting releases. The candidate should be a pro-active thinker, manage time well, be thorough and detail-oriented, and be able to effectively manage and timely complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Handle critical aspects of the dispute resolution process, including:
- gathering facts/collecting evidence to assist in the early assessment of disputes,
- assisting with responses to discovery requests, including gathering documents, liaising with IT and other departments to search electronic data, and corresponding with witnesses and custodians of documents,
- Organizing and archiving documents related to completed and ongoing cases.
- Coordinate responses to third-party subpoena requests.
- Assist with preparation and finalization of affidavits, declarations, and verifications for filing.
- Prepare settlement agreements.
- Edit various documents and materials.
- Communicate with outside counsel independently and under supervision of attorneys to ensure timely and effective legal representation with minimal disruption to company business.
- Provide regular feedback and ensure effective communication with internal clients and appropriate departments regarding the status of legal projects.
- Must have a minimum of 6 years of paralegal experience in a law firm and/or in-house
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional planning, organizational, and administrative skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to effectively multi-task and manage time-sensitive document requests.
- Drive to take initiative and work independently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with electronic discovery.
- Local (NYC) candidates only.
Pay Transparency: $110k – $120k
