Salary
As a member of Apple's IP litigation team, you will not be merely monitoring outside counsel. Rather, you will be directly engaged in formulating and driving strategy on post-grant patent challenges, including before the PTAB. The position requires a high degree of self-sufficiency, independent judgment, and a results-oriented approach. You will operate as part of a supportive and fun team of lawyers, legal specialists and support staff who work closely together to protect Apple's interests. Specific responsibilities will include: - Managing Apple’s post-grant docket from prior art analysis and petition drafting to brief writing and oral hearings - Assisting in appeals to the Federal Circuit of PTAB decisions - Developing strategies to improve Apple’s post-grant outcomes - Coordinating strategy between litigations and post-grant proceedings - Defining post-grant policies
- 5+ years as an Administrative Patent Judge or similar position resolving invalidity patent challenges at the USPTO or other patent office
- 5+ years handling post-grant patent challenges at a law firm
- Engineering or computer science degree
- Registered to practice before the USPTO
- Excellent communication, analytical, organization, and negotiation skills
- Advanced degree in engineering or computer science
- Federal Circuit clerkship
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $199,700 and $299,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
