Reporting to and working under general supervision of the General Counsel, the Corporate Paralegal supports the legal and risk team with corporate governance, contract management, compliance, and general business law matters. The role involves preparing legal documents, performing legal research, managing corporate records, and ensuring that the company complies with relevant laws and regulations. In addition, this role will provide support to the General Counsel, assisting with administrative and organizational tasks as needed. Employees in this position may interact with their leader several times a week to receive guidance and feedback. Some non-routine activities may require their leader’s advance approval, but routine decisions within the general scope of the role may be made independently


 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review, draft and negotiate a variety of contracts and agreements, including vendor contracts, employment agreements, service agreements, and other legal-related documents
  • Assist in the management of litigation and other legal proceedings, including responding to subpoenas and discovery requests, coordinating with outside counsel, and managing document collection and review processes
  • Collaborate and communicate with multiple departments to capture contracts /accomplish project goals
  • Provide administrative support to General Counsel, including scheduling appointments, managing calendar, preparing documents and arranging travel
  • Attend team meetings, track agendas, actions items, and goals to keep the team on course
  • Support in managing legal budget
  • Take on non-administrative ad-hoc projects such as preparing reports and presentations, generating insights and research for decision-making, and assisting with event planning
  • Manage legal team expense reports, process invoices and reconcile discrepancies
  • Maintain and organize corporate records
  • Provide project management support and coordination for special projects
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work a hybrid work environment with mandatory in-office days (3 days a week)
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time while working at a desk or computer
  • Occasional standing, walking, and lifting up to 10 pounds may be required
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of this role

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year college or equivalent relevant experience
  • Paralegal Certification
  • At least 5 years of experience in legal field required
  • Preferred knowledge of California and Georgia law

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE)

  • Working understanding of digital literacy; proficient ability to use conventional computer software applications (e.g. Windows, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Email, etc.)
  • Proficient abilities in professional writing, meeting summarization, presentation creation, scheduling, time management, and verbal/written communication
  • Working knowledge of legal procedure and protocols
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, document management programs), and Adobe Pro
  • Expert oral and written communication skills
  • Expert ability to multi-task, manage time-sensitive documents and have exceptional organizational skills in a fast-paced environment

Compensation: $75,000-$120,000
