Cole, Scott, & Kissane See More Job Openings by This EmployerCole, Scott & Kissane, P.A., Florida’s largest full-service civil litigation firm, is currently seeking a highly skilled Legal Assistant with a strong background in insurance defense litigation to support one of our partners in our Tampa Office!
This is an excellent opportunity for a Legal Assistant who is self-motivated, organized, and has at least 5 years of litigation experience. The ideal candidate brings leadership skills, sound judgment, and the ability to take ownership of their role in a fast-paced, high-volume litigation environment. Responsibilities:
- Provide high-level legal and administrative support to one of the firm’s partners
- Manage calendars and coordinate all scheduling communications with precision
- Prepare and file routine pleadings and legal documents in accordance with court procedures
- Ensure compliance with client guidelines, firm policies, and judge-specific procedures

Maintain case files, track deadlines, and ensure timely filings with courts

Liaise professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel

Use initiative to anticipate attorney needs and maintain workflow efficiency
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in insurance defense litigation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Deep understanding of court rules, litigation procedures, and the Florida E-Filing Portal
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving abilities

Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and mentor staff if needed

Proficiency with legal software and Microsoft Office suite
