International Trade Law Firm – Paralegal Position
Overview:
- Highly regarded DC-based International Trade law firm seeking a full-time paralegal.
- Ideal for academically accomplished candidates with an interest in law or international trade.
- Opportunity to gain hands-on experience in litigation and regulatory practices.
Responsibilities:
- Perform administrative duties (e.g., document management).
- Draft and edit legal documents, including forms, letters, and briefs for:
- U.S. Department of Commerce
- U.S. Customs and Border Protection
- U.S. International Trade Commission
- U.S. Court of International Trade
- U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit
- Research, compile, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data.
- Assist with hearing preparation and long-term projects.
- Expect a mix of administrative and substantive tasks; new hires without trade law experience will initially focus more on administrative work.
Qualifications:
- Professionalism, strong teamwork, and sound judgment.
- High attention to detail, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Ability to handle administrative duties in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong academic background (minimum 3.5 GPA preferred).
Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); Adobe Acrobat a plus.
- Strong research, writing, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication; ability to meet deadlines.
Hours & Work Environment:
- Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m., with required OT flexibility.
- Full in-office work for the first three months; hybrid (up to 2 remote days/week) afterward.
