Responsibilities

  • Estate, trust and guardianship administration
  • Assist with preparation of personal and fiduciary income tax returns
  • Assist with preparation of federal estate tax returns
  • Prepare or draft estate planning documents in a timely, appropriate manner
  • Assist in hearings and trial prep, if necessary
  • Document submission to federal and state agencies; electronic filings
  • Plan and schedule client meetings as needed
  • Communicate directly with clients, witnesses, attorneys and administrative staff; document significant communications
  • Review and monitor updated statutes, regulations, codes and other authorities specific to area of practice
  • Demonstrate effort and commitment for client; effective advocate for client
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications
  • Paralegal degree or certificate required, BS/BA degree preferred
  • 5+ yrs. experience required
  • Knowledge of Lackner 6-in-1 Estate Accounting Software and tax preparation software
  • Advanced computer skills: Microsoft Office 365 including Excel, Outlook and Word, as well as Kofax Power PDF Advanced Power PDF and Adobe Acrobat
  • Knowledge of document management (IManage) program
  • Knowledge of time entry software (Aderant) and expense reimbursement software (Chrome River)
  • Knowledge of comparison software (Change-Pro/Microsoft Track Changes)
  • Observes strict confidentiality in both client and law office matters
  • Positive team player, independent self-starter, takes direction well and accepts a challenge
  • Professional attitude and excellent customer service skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team environment
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate good judgment and discretion
  • Generate high-quality work, with exceptional attention to detail and proof reading skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, adapt to new assignments, meet deadlines and maintain poise in a fast-paced, highly demanding environment

This is not a remote position.  This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hrs./wk., Monday-Friday.  The final pay rate is determined by qualifications and years of relevant experience.
