
Position Title: Paralegal - Temporary (April 2025 through February 2026, Potential for Permanent)
Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Paralegal to temporarily join our team, providing critical support to our attorney(s) during a leave of absence. This position is expected to start as early as April 2025 and continue through February 2026, with the possibility of extension or transition into a permanent role. The Paralegal will assist attorneys by conducting investigative work, performing legal research, and supporting various legal actions and proceedings.

Assist attorneys in preparing and drafting legal documents, briefs, pleadings, and discovery requests.
Schedule depositions, type correspondence, file pleadings, and handle discovery requests.
Transcribe attorney dictation regarding case files.
Communicate with clients, doctors, and other relevant parties.
Organize transportation and travel arrangements for clients as needed.
Manage incoming calls, screen and direct them appropriately.
Maintain accurate appointment and court appearance calendars.
Track court dates, ensuring documents are prepared in a timely manner.
Maintain and organize all case files.
Coordinate with witnesses and interpreters for court appearances.
Provide responses to questions from clients, opposing parties, and other involved parties regarding case status, court procedures, and case dispositions.
Stay informed of new rules, regulations, and legislation that impact legal practices.
Maintain a follow-up system to ensure timely case reviews when appropriate.
Required Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
In-depth understanding of legal language, principles, research methods, court pleadings, and related processes.
Proficiency with case management software (Needles, Litify, or similar systems preferred).
Strong computer skills, particularly with case management software and word processing programs.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree required.
1-3 years of experience as a Paralegal, particularly in personal injury law, is preferred.
High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to handle deadlines and work under pressure.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Work Schedule: Full-time, temporary position from April 2025 through February 2026, with potential for a permanent role after the contract period.
