Job Description

Are you a decisive legal leader who can unite a growing team of attorneys around clear standards, accountability, and shared success?

Do you thrive in fast-paced environments where client outcomes, team performance, and operational excellence all demand your attention?

Can you identify bottlenecks, resolve excuses, and mentor attorneys toward consistent, measurable results — without losing your empathy or edge?

Is your leadership style rooted in direct communication, high expectations, and a commitment to both the client experience and internal team growth?

Final question: When faced with a challenge, do you get excited or run away?

At our firm, we believe in doing things differently. Our firm has earned a reputation as one of South Carolina’s most respected personal injury practices by staying grounded in humility, accountability, and service. With over 100 years of combined experience and nearly $100 million recovered for our clients, our attorneys handle a broad range of cases — from car and truck accidents to nursing home abuse and wrongful death — with unwavering dedication. We serve clients across all of South Carolina, including the Midlands (Columbia area), the Upstate (Greenville), the Lowcountry (Charleston) and the Pee Dee (Myrtle Beach), operating with a client-first mindset that prioritizes transparency, shared decision-making, and compassionate legal representation.

Our team handles thousands of personal injury cases across South Carolina — proof of the trust our clients place in us and the results we consistently deliver. We’ve built a culture that rejects ego and excuses, embraces innovation, and empowers every team member to grow. Whether we’re stepping into court for high-stakes litigation or guiding clients through complex legal processes, we uphold the highest standards of ethics and performance. This is a place where integrity meets progress — and every client is treated like family.

As our team continues to grow, we’re seeking a seasoned Supervising Attorney to bring leadership, structure, and accountability to our high-performing legal team. With eight PI attorneys across pre-litigation and litigation roles, we need a leader who can unify diverse personalities, drive performance toward revenue goals, and clear operational bottlenecks before they stall progress. This role is essential to ensuring consistent legal quality, mentoring junior attorneys, and aligning our teams with firm-wide expectations. If you’re someone who can hold the line with kindness, deliver frank feedback with clarity, and elevate legal operations without compromising empathy — this is where you’ll thrive.

What you’ll do:

Leadership & Oversight

Provide guidance and direction to a team of personal injury attorneys handling pre-suit and in-suit matters.

Instill confidence in our attorneys by helping them access and obtain new skills.

Establish and maintain legal quality standards across all plaintiff injury cases.

Regularly review legal work product, negotiation advocacy and litigation strategies to ensure alignment with firm goals and best practices.

Conduct routine performance check-ins, provide actionable feedback, and lead annual attorney evaluations.

Operations & Strategy

Monitor and drive attorney performance toward meeting and exceeding production, revenue, and other key performance metrics.

Collaborate with attorneys to troubleshoot complex case issues or workflow challenges.

Ensure proper staffing structure across litigation tiers and caseloads.

Participate in attorney hiring decisions, including candidate screening and interviews.

Partner with firm leadership to enhance systems, workflows, and overall department effectiveness.

Execute on Managing Attorney’s objectives.

Client & Case Management

Directly represent clients in complex personal injury matters when needed, including negotiations, mediations, and court appearances.

Guide case strategy development from case origination through resolution.

Review and support discovery, motions, pleadings, and expert coordination on key cases.

Maintain client communication standards, ensuring clients are consistently informed and supported throughout the legal process.

Training & Development

Mentor junior and mid-level attorneys, providing support for professional development and litigation training.

Support recruitment and mentorship within the firm’s student associate or internship programs.

Compliance & Culture

Promote adherence to legal ethics and professional conduct standards.

Lead by example in fostering a client-centered, collaborative, and high-performance team culture.

Represent the firm at internal meetings and relevant legal or community events.

What we’re looking for:

Experience & Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active license with the South Carolina Bar (required).
  • Minimum 5–7 years of plaintiff-side personal injury experience, including litigation. Candidates with high-volume experience in both pre-litigation and litigation are preferred.
  • At least 1+ year in a leadership role managing attorneys or legal teams. Prior experience overseeing both pre-litigation and litigation attorneys is ideal.
  • Demonstrated history of coaching and elevating less-experienced attorneys through structured feedback, shadowing opportunities, and individual development plans.
  • Tech-comfortable: Experience with Filevine, Salesforce, or similar platforms is preferred. Must also be comfortable using AI tools.

Traits & Competencies

  • Strategic thinker with excellent follow-through and accountability habits.
  • Ego-free, growth-oriented mindset: Approaches challenges with curiosity and humility, values collaborative problem-solving, and continuously seeks professional learning to stay ahead of industry changes.
  • Relentless follow-through and accountability, setting clear goals, tracking progress, and ensuring that every task, deadline and client commitment is completed without excuses.
  • Ownership-aligned decision-making: Welcomes strategic direction from firm leadership, harmonizes team priorities with firm objectives, and communicates upwards with clarity and candor.
  • Data-driven and tech-savvy management: Comfortable with legal-practice KPIs, dashboards, AI-enhanced research and document production, and case management software. Leverages metrics to boost efficiency and quality.
  • Holds team members accountable with high standards and a results-oriented mindset. Maintains high expectations with the team, ensuring that challenges are resolved — not rationalized.
  • Direct, confident communicator who leads with clarity and doesn’t shy away from hard conversations.
  • Collaborative spirit with zero ego — comfortable guiding, supporting, and sometimes course-correcting others.
  • Fast-moving, detail-minded, and calm under pressure — able to handle both legal oversight and high-level case input.
  • Growth-focused and curious — ready to embrace new tools, AI innovation, and startup-style agility.

Why you should work here:

  • Positive Team Environment: Join a team where people genuinely get along, morale is taken seriously, and connection is built through monthly all-hands meetings, quarterly retreats, and team gatherings.
  • Mission-Driven Culture: Be part of a firm that takes pride in delivering exceptional service to everyday people — combining fierce client advocacy with a down-to-earth, values-first approach.
  • Opportunity for Growth: Step into a fast-moving firm that’s scaling quickly and offering real pathways for leadership, innovation, and professional advancement.

Additional perks:

  • Health Insurance: Take advantage of comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage to support your health and well-being.
  • Life & Disability Insurance: Feel confident with life and disability insurance designed to protect you and your loved ones.
  • 401(k) Plan: Start planning for your future with access to a retirement savings plan.
  • Performance Bonuses: Be eligible for performance-based bonuses tied to key success metrics.

This is more than just a leadership role. It’s an opportunity to shape the future of a fast-scaling law firm that values grit, transparency, and results. If you’re ready to step into a firm that’s rewriting what personal injury law can look like — where culture and performance go hand in hand — then we invite you to apply and show us how you lead.
