Job Description

Overview:

This dynamic law firm is seeking an experienced Biotech Patent Associate from a top U.S. law firm with a superb biotechnology and life sciences background.

Professional Growth:

You will have the opportunity to collaborate with multiple partners across various offices and work on patent matters other than just Prep & Pros. Firm provides a high level of mentorship and training within a collegial environment. Multiple locations are available,

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to U.S. office actions with the USPTO
  • Conduct prior art and freedom-to-operate searches for patentability and freedom-to-operate analysis
  • Draft high-quality U.S. patent applications
  • Be an integral member of the team and invest in attorneys with both mentorship and professional growth

Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidates will have a Biology-related PhD
  • Must be eligible for USPTO admissions
  • State Bar, IL preferred.
  • Superior academic credentials required
  • Outstanding writing ability is required
  • 4+ years of top law firm patent prosecution experience in a broad range of biology applications which may include molecular and cellular biology, Genetics, and/or Immunology.

Anticipated Base Salary Range

The anticipated base salary range is $210000-275000 per year. Actual salary will depend on several factors including but not limited to qualifications, job-related skills, and relevant experience.
