Provide advice on various legal matters and perform legal review and drafting of contracts and other legal documents.
Include but are not limited to:
Contracts and Transactions
- Draft and review contracts and other agreements to be executed by the Bank; advise on contract status, legal risks, and legal rights and liabilities associated with different transactions with an understanding and focus on industry standards and practices; assist in developing and implementing the key legal risk parameters across all agreements; draft, review, edit, advise and comment on agreements and other legal documents submitted by client departments
Legal Risk Assessment and Advisory
- Research, assess and advise on legal issues that do or could impact the Bank; provide legal services to support the Bank’s new initiatives; conduct new product legal risk assessment; participate in the Bank’s special projects; offer advice on legal matters and perform legal research for the Bank’s other departments; assist client departments in identifying legal inherent risks in their products, services and activities, in order to help resolve or mitigate identified legal risks
Outside Counsel Management and Governance
- Review outside counsel’s legal advice and opinions and coordinate with outside counsel to perform and present legal advice; provide “second opinion” for suitability or another level or review with respect to outside counsel’s opinion when needed; review and draft the Bank’s policies, procedures, or other programs
- JD/LLM Accredited U.S. law school
- Licensed Attorney in one of the United States- ideally NYS
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in Legal Analytical and Contract Review
- Bilingual ability in English and Mandarin
Actual salary is commensurate with candidate’s relevant years of experience, skillset, education and other qualifications.
