The Corporate Paralegal provides critical support to key areas in the legal department. This position will report to the General Counsel and will assist them in supporting all lines of business. This position requires a high degree of sensitivity and discretion in dealing with legal, confidential, and proprietary matters, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. The ideal candidate is a critical thinker, proactive, self-motivated, with a project ownership mentality, and strong collaboration and communications skills.
(The following Responsibilities and Duties are meant to give a brief idea of work expectations and is not to be considered a complete list or work detail):
• Coordinating execution of key corporate governance and compliance documents, as well as client agreements
• Assisting with regulatory compliance in the energy space, e.g., public utility commissions, NFA, secretaries of state, etc.
• Assisting with general corporate legal matters such as employment agreements and litigation support
• Maintaining licenses, certifications, entity registrations, and bonds over several lines of business, including calendaring deadlines for filings
• Ensuring all Client Entities remain in good standing and qualified to do business in their respective jurisdiction
• Administrative tasks such as document filing and organization, drafting initial documents, coordinating meetings, maintaining executive calendars, and taking detailed meeting minutes
• Assisting General Counsel with corporate books
• Assisting with special projects as needed, with the ability to work in an ever-changing environment
• Providing general support to the Company’s General Counsel
• Coordinating with clients regarding required corporate agreements

Education/ Specialized knowledge and skills requirement:
• Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited institution preferred
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in corporate legal and/or compliance department preferred
• Highly Advanced Skills in grammar, proofreading, drafting documents, editing, research
• Advanced MS Office and computer skills
