                            The scope of the Health Eligibility Center (HEC), Enrollment Case Management expanded to include support of the veterans' healthcare enrollment system. This support entails assessing and verifying veterans' eligibility status, processing enrollment applications and supporting the Enrollment Case Management, HEC Management.
Duties Incumbent is assigned to the Enrollment Case Management, of the Health Eligibility Center National Call Center. Serves as the subject-matter-expert (SME), adjudicating and authorizing Veteran's eligibility applications for programs such as, but not limited to, enrollment, eligibility for VA healthcare benefits, and financial assessment. Knowledge of Special Emphasis programs to include Caregiver Program, Fugitive Felon Program (FFP), Affordable Care Act, Clay Hunt Act, Camp Lejeune, Agent Orange, Southwest Asia, Burn Pit Registry, Dental Eligibility, Ionized Radiation, Shipboard Hazard and Defense (Project SHAD). Also, requires limited knowledge of Traveling Veterans Coordination (TVC), Indian Health Services (INS), CHAMPVA, Decedent Affairs and Veterans Choice Act. Processes requests to update veterans' personal, eligibility and enrollment information by entering the information into the HEC database and transmits updates to VHA facilities involved in the veteran's care. Responsibilities include communicating with management in regards to veterans' escalated problems and feedback on process improvements. Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. Work Schedule: Full time, 40 hours per week/8 hours per shift, hours of operation are 6:45am-7:15pm CST. Tour of duty based on organizational needs and determined by seniority, most new employees will work evening, and night. Official tour of duty will be selected based on business needs and will start after training is completed. Remote: This position is not authorized for Remote work. Virtual eligibility will be discussed during the interview process. Definition of Virtual work: Employee works outside of original hiring duty station at VA-owned or leased space.
