Job Summary

As a Paralegal/Legal Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our legal team by managing case files, conducting research, drafting documents, and assisting in day-to-day office operations. Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, trials, and closings.
  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, contracts, motions, and correspondence.
  • Conduct legal research on real estate law, bankruptcy filings, DWI defense strategies, and family law/divorce cases.
  • Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are filed and up to date.
  • Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel regarding case status and legal proceedings.
  • Prepare and file court documents such as motions, briefs, and discovery materials.
  • Manage deadlines, hearings, and court calendars.
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing real estate transaction documents such as deeds, leases, and purchase agreements.
  • Monitor bankruptcy filings, prepare petitions, schedules, and assist in case management.
  • Provide administrative support including scheduling meetings, answering phone calls, and client intake.
Qualifications
Qualifications
  • Experience: 1-3 years of paralegal or legal assistant experience (experience in real estate, bankruptcy, DWI, or divorce law is a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology and court procedures.
  • Proficient in legal research tools and case management software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
