Job Summary
As a Paralegal/Legal Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our legal team by managing case files, conducting research, drafting documents, and assisting in day-to-day office operations. - Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, trials, and closings.
- Draft legal documents including pleadings, contracts, motions, and correspondence.
- Conduct legal research on real estate law, bankruptcy filings, DWI defense strategies, and family law/divorce cases.
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are filed and up to date.
- Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel regarding case status and legal proceedings.
- Prepare and file court documents such as motions, briefs, and discovery materials.
- Manage deadlines, hearings, and court calendars.
- Assist in drafting and reviewing real estate transaction documents such as deeds, leases, and purchase agreements.
- Monitor bankruptcy filings, prepare petitions, schedules, and assist in case management.
- Provide administrative support including scheduling meetings, answering phone calls, and client intake.
- Experience: 1-3 years of paralegal or legal assistant experience (experience in real estate, bankruptcy, DWI, or divorce law is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology and court procedures.
- Proficient in legal research tools and case management software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
