SHSO-Sutter Health System Office-ValleyPosition Overview:
Provides operational support to legal counsel by reviewing, drafting and revising legal documents, conducting research, and monitoring and tracking legislative/legal developments in assigned area. Participates in projects by gathering and collecting documents, reviewing due diligence and serving as a liaison. Assists legal counsel in developing policies, procedures, systems, tools and processes to comply with designated laws and regulations.(Intended for use by SHSO only)
Job Description:
The candidate selected for this role must come on site 2 to 3 days a week for work. This is NOT a remote position and the person selected must live a commutable distance to the Sacramento office.
EDUCATION:
- Associate's: Paralegal studies or one of the certifications listed below
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
- One of the following is required if no AA in Paralegal studies
- PACC-Paralegal Advanced Competency Certification
- OR CP-Certified Paralegal
- OR Certified Legal Professional (CLP) (Administered by Natl Assn for Legal Professionals - NALS)
- OR Professional Paralegal (Administered by NALS)
- OR APC - Advanced Paralegal Certification
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years of recent relevant experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of legal principles, concepts, systems and processes.
- Knowledge of legal time constraints and deadlines.
- Knowledge of legal ethics, terminologies, and methods and procedures of discovery.
- Ability to identify, evaluate and extract pertinent information from a variety of documents and computerized sources.
- Ability to research statues and legal references using digital tools, libraries, legal publications and professional resources, and to summarize research results.
- Ability to define issues, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions or recommend course of action.
- Critical thinking and analytical skills with a keen attention to details.
- Demonstrates a proactive approach in identifying and addressing issues and concerns.
- Displays a customer service focus in all decisions and actions.
- Ability to communicate through verbal and written means, and to present information to a variety of audiences.
- Organization skills to effectively manage and/or re-prioritize activities and projects to meet deadlines while maintaining a high degree of responsiveness.
- Ability to interact and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.

Pay Range is $32.36 to $46.93 / hourThe compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
