Reports to: Director of Compliance and Administration
Location: West Grove, PA/ Hybrid, 3 days in office and 2 work from home
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm
The opportunity.
Star® Roses and Plants is an intellectual property (IP) and wholesale company that breeds and introduces new plant genetics to support the growth and innovation of the horticulture industry. Our success is built on relationships with plant breeders and licensees nationwide. We are seeking an individual to manage our licensing and royalty agreements and support the administrative functions of the department.
As the Intellectual Property and Licensing Administrator, you will prepare and manage company legal agreements, including those with licensees, plant breeders, contract growers, and plant trial locations or entities. You will oversee compliance of each agreement, sometimes working with external counsel to do so. Additionally, you will help our licensees and plant breeders to meet contractual deadlines by creating and providing royalty reports and invoices.
Your strong affinity for collaboration will help you to be successful in this position. You will work closely with internal department managers and the License Department at our parent company, Ball Horticultural, to ensure accurate data entry into our company’s software system, SAP. Another important partnership will be with our New Product Development Managers. They will work with you to ensure the proper implementation of all changes regarding licensing and legal requirements for the plants in their product pipelines.
This position assumes supervisory responsibility of one direct report and the successful candidate will have prior management experience. Your further assistance in additional capacities may be requested.
Work environment.
Normal office environment. Requires sitting, standing, bending, and reaching, manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment, and normal range of hearing and vision. May require lifting up to 20 pounds.
Travel
0-10% - Occasional travel to local trade shows, industry events, or company-sponsored events.

You have this.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience developing and executing license agreements
- Experience managing people or teams, including assigning tasks and supporting workload
- Keen eye for details and effective organization
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Strong proficiency with MS Office
- Experience with SAP system preferred
