
Job Title: Paralegal
Department: Corporate
Reports to: SVP, Human Resources
FLSA: Exempt. $70,000 annually with up to 10% annual bonus incentive
Position Summary:
Support the in-house legal needs of the Company by drafting documents, organizing files, reviewing basic contracts and responding to legal concerns from outside parties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
1. Primary internal resource in areas of Labor, Corporate Governance, Business and Commercial law.
2. Draft and prepare a wide range of legal documents
3. Conduct legal research and investigations
4. Manages electronic and physical filing systems
5. Issue legal correspondence
6. Schedule meetings, interviews, mediations, and arbitrations
7. Support arbitration/WC case preparation
8. Order approved office supplies as needed; enter orders and PO’s in Coupa as necessary.
Marginal Functions:
1. Participate in Departmental meetings.
2. Monitors compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations.
Job Specifications:
1. Associate’s degree (or higher) in paralegal studies or equivalent work experience or completion of a formal paralegal program
2. 4-6 years of experience in a similar role
3. Basic understanding of legal principles and proceedings
4. Ability to maintain composure under pressure
5. Hyper-organized
6. Fundamentals of business mathematics
7. Fundamentals of legal writing
8. Familiarity with relevant Law
9. Advanced multi-tasking skills; and refined written and verbal communication skills.
10. Exhibits accuracy, attention to detail and ability to maintain absolute confidentiality in all aspects of human resources work.
11. Willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel to off-site locations as required.
