We are actively searching for an eBilling Specialist with 3-5 years of experience to join our team in Minneapolis, MN.
Position Summary: This position is a member of the Bowman and Brooke LLP billing team and is responsible for the quality production of service bills for external clients and other stakeholders. The incumbent works in a team environment focused on cross-training, shared accountability for results and continuous process improvement.
Responsibilities
- Ability to generate and submit electronic bills as required, utilizing a multitude of ebilling sites.
- Manage monthly time-posting process in Aderant Expert.
- Prepare monthly pre-bills by established deadline.
- Accurately input edits to prebills, as directed by responsible attorneys, before posting, producing, and sending final bill to client.
- Provide follow-up to both clients and internal customers regarding status of bill issuance, bill payments, accruals and spend reporting.
- Perform basic analysis of bills and report findings for both firm employees and clients through the use of an Excel spreadsheet.
- Attend and actively participate in department and Billing team meetings.
- Ability and willingness to collaborate with other members of the accounting department to promote seamless service to internal customers and external clients.
- Maintain appropriate control activities to ensure accurate workflow processes.
- Adhere to Firm accounting and billing procedures.
- Maintain documentation of responsibilities and client billing instructions to ensure complete, accurate and seamless service in cross-training efforts.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by leadership by effectively prioritizing all position responsibilities and deadlines.
Position Requirements

- Familiarity with e-billing platforms and procedures.
- Working skills in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced level proficiency in Excel.
- Ability to contribute to a positive team environment that recognizes, and values change and continuous process improvement.
- Ability to work overtime, as needed, to meet departmental and firm wide goals and objectives.
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility in start and end times for a given workday (or multiple days) to support the need for seamless and responsive coast-to-coast service
Education and Experience
- Associate Degree in Accounting or combination of work and education equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years previous Accounting and/or bookkeeping experience preferred.
- Previous billing experience in a law firm environment preferred but not required.
- Experience using Aderant Expert in a billing environment preferred but not required.
