Job Description

The Corporate Paralegal II (Bankruptcy) provides support and assistance to the company’s in-house legal group under general attorney supervision.  This position will be responsible for using their knowledge and skills to assist in supporting the company’s attorneys in medium-risk matters in a particular function (Licensing, Litigation, Transactional, Bankruptcy). The Corporate Paralegal II is expected to be knowledgeable about, and supportive of, the company’s mission and values, its policies and procedures and its ethical and compliance standards.  The position will collaborate with other in-house counsel, paralegals, and outside attorneys in pursuit of company goals and objectives.
 

Responsibilities

  • Communicates with team members and the business, assembly and organization of responsive materials and supporting unique projects as assigned.
  • Develops professional expertise related to Functional area (Licensing, Litigation, Transactional, Bankruptcy) to support the legal department, including reviewing and drafting legal documents.  
  • Identifying business improvements related to functional area (Licensing, Litigation, Transactional, Bankruptcy).  
  • Determines course of action related to functional support area.  
  • Applies knowledge, judgment, and learned problem solving to determine appropriate action on functional area issues of medium risk/complexity.    
  • Other duties as assigned.  


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:  Associate's degree              

EXPERIENCE:  4-6 years of relevant experience

CERTIFICATION(S):  Paralegal Certificate or equivalent

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES:

  • Relevant functional experience (Licensing, Litigation, Transactional, Bankruptcy)
  • Proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Legal Research Skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:  Bachelor's               

EXPERIENCE:  4-6 years of relevant experience (Licensing, Litigation, Transactional, Bankruptcy)

CERTIFICATION(S):  Paralegal Certificate or equivalent

Starting Compensation

Hourly Rate: $23.99 - $34.86 (Amount based on office location, relevant experience, skills, and competencies)
