
Reports To: Corporate Counsel
Status: Open to both part-time and full-time candidates
Location: Hybrid - Mission Valley, CA (Mondays and Wednesdays onsite)
Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000
Position Summary
The Paralegal role will support our legal team at a high-level of detail orientation and organization. The Paralegal will routinely utilize strong analytical and communication skills and understanding of legal procedures and overall company compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
Legal Support & Litigation:
Assist attorneys with litigation and administrative agency matters, including maintaining litigation budget and processing invoices, calendaring, document management, filings, drafting and tracking litigation hold notices, and communications with clients, internal stakeholders, and outside counsel, as applicable.
Coordinate and process subpoenas, demand letters, and government agency requests.
Track litigation deadlines and key milestones using legal calendaring tools.
Contract & Document Management:
Review, draft, and revise contracts, waivers (e.g., auto, travel, telecommuting), and legal templates.
Draft and implement employment, corporate, and compliance-related policies, procedures, and agreements.
Maintain and track company policies, documents, forms, and their amendments.
Manage document retention, legal filing systems, and department calendars.
Employment & Compliance:
Support updates to the employee handbook (i.e. Policies & Procedures, core onboarding packets; and state-specific compliance packets).
Coordinate and manage pay data reporting and assist with employment law compliance initiatives including state minimum wage changes, state final pay rules, sick time initiatives, and wage statement requirements.
Conduct audits, including I-9 audits and recurring company-wide legal and HR audits (e.g., contracts, onboarding documents, online training).
Assist with background check processes and ensure compliance with relevant laws.
Track and support execution of mandatory legal and training programs, including but not limited to anti-harassment training, workplace violence, etc.
Conduct legal research and state-by-state legislative analysis and assist with process implementation.
Assist with corporate matters (e.g., business license research for new jurisdictions)
Respond to legal tickets and inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
Act as a subject matter expert on Form I-9 compliance, including conducting quarterly audits, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring company-wide adherence to federal and state employment eligibility verification requirements.
Proactively monitor changes in immigration laws and assist in updating internal policies and training materials as needed.
Privacy Support:
Maintain Eastridge Privacy team email account and respond to privacy requests from internal and external stakeholders.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure privacy-related information is updated in internal systems.

Internal Collaboration & Special Projects:
Support and present at legal roadshows and attend internal legal/compliance events as needed.
Maintain legal intranet/web pages, including design, content updates, and compliance tracking.
Coordinate legal department supplies, mail processing, and internal event logistics.
Lead or assist with special projects and other tasks as assigned by the Legal Department.
Manager Workers’ Compensation code approval and associated rates as well as tracking and follow up with worker/WC carrier when claims occur.
Guide account managers through background check adjudication process and consult on action or escalate when necessary
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes
Strong organizational and execution skills, with excellent follow-through
High emotional intelligence and professionalism in executive settings
Strong stakeholder management skills across multiple business units
Data fluency and ability to present operational insights clearly
Deep understanding of recruiting workflows, particularly in staffing firms
Preferred Qualifications
Associate or bachelor's degree in paralegal studies or related field
Paralegal certification preferred (e.g., NALA, NFPA)
2+ years of experience in a legal setting (law firm or corporate legal department). We will consider a Sr. Paralegal title for candidates with 4+ years of experience.
Experience with employment law, including wage and hour is a strong plus
Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and document formats
Proficiency with legal research and case management software
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Strong organizational and time management skills
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Professional office environment.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment including, but not limited to, computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to engage in professional and interpersonal written and verbal communications with a wide variety of individuals including employees, customers, vendors, managers and others.
In accordance with the requirements of a typical office work environment, the employee will be required to attend meetings in person and/or by phone/video conferencing, use keyboards, keypads, dial pads etc., Some overhead reaching, bending and twisting, as per usual office environment and functions.
This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
Travel
No travel is expected.
