
Job Purpose:
The purpose of the Senior Legal Counsel is to provide legal advice; partnering closely with business leadership to drive business growth, compliance initiatives, and minimize risk to the business.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including real-estate, debt, construction, sales, vendors, and partnership contracts.
- Handle collection matters for the Company and assist Credit Department with improving procedures and processes
- Improve legal department processes.
- Support internal projects, trainings, and processes, and drive cross-functional efforts.
- Ensure the Company adheres to all applicable laws and regulations, including developing and implementing compliance policies.
- Oversee the Company's intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks and copyrights
- Help oversee the selection, retention, management and evaluation of all outside counsel
- Identify potential legal risks within business operations and advising on mitigation strategies
- Conduct training for Company employees as needed and any legal operating framework, including issue resolution, escalation, compliance processes and risk management
- Other duties as assigned

- Maintain regular, punctual and reliable attendance and availability

Qualifications:
- JD from an accredited law school
- 5-7 + years legal practice experience
- Real-estate and corporate experience preferred
- In-depth understanding of how legal issues affect organizations
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to build relationships, openly share knowledge, and effectively collaborate with business managers and outside counsel
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to work effectively at all levels of the organization and externally
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Possess a satisfactory driving record as determined by Company Driver Policies
Travel Requirement:
- 20% travel to branches and other operating companies requiring some overnight stay, travel to industry related conferences and training requiring some extended stay
