CS Title: High School Aide

Position Title: High School Intern

Salary Range: $16.50/hr - $16.50/hr

Position Summary:

The New York County District Attorney's Office (DANY) has openings for the 2025 Summer High School Internship Program. This rigorous five-week, paid internship provides students with an insider’s view of the criminal justice system. Participants will engage in workshops and discussions, participate in a mock trial program, develop professionalism in an office setting, and more. Interns will be paid minimum wage.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·         Engage in workshops and discussions about criminal justice, police brutality, civic engagement, leadership, and more. 

·         Attend presentations and conversations to build a foundational understanding of the role of a prosecutor.

·         Meet with a mock trial coach 1 – 2 times per week. 

·         Work in a Unit and perform administrative tasks as needed. 

·         Perform related tasks as assigned.

Eligibility

·         Applicants must reside in Manhattan

·         Applicants must be current sophomores, juniors, or seniors in high school.

Hours/Shift:

·         Interns must attend the full five-week session from June 30, 2025 – August 1, 2025.

·         In-person Monday through Friday from 9:30 am – 4:30 pm.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

1.    Employment in this title is restricted to students enrolled in and attending high school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a high school student.  No student shall be employed for more than 20 hours in any week that school is in session.  Students may be employed full‐time during their vacation periods.
